Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The EHR Trainer will be responsible for the support and implementation of Variety Care's EHR clinical training programs. As EHR represents a mission-critical system, the EHR Trainer will be instrumental to on-going training at various levels of clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure the users are optimizing system functionality.  The EHR Trainer ensures users are appropriately trained as they work towards achieving “meaningful use”, PCMH and UDS requirements.  This position will also provide daily support and be a resource to the IT helpdesk staff in resolving user issues related to system use and/or functionality.   

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develops and updates as needed training materials for EHR training.
  2. Conducts classroom-style training for users.
  3. Conducts one-on-one training sessions with users as needed or requested.
  4. Conducts observations of users in their environment to identify areas for improvement and suggestions for workflow redesign.
  5. Maintains knowledge of Variety Care’s standard configurations and clinic specific templates and customization.
  6. Provides onsite training and issue resolution support at health centers and other provider facilities.
  7. Serves as EHR resource to Variety Care’s helpdesk regarding ticket resolution for clinical services.
  8. Provides user interface support for new EHR EHR implementations.
  9. Assists with coordinating requests by health centers for system modifications and enhancements.
  10. Maintains an issue knowledge-base to document specific training issues related to the application.
  11. Supports Variety Care’s accreditation as a Patient Centered Medical Home and our commitment to provide care to all Variety patients that is Safe, Effective, Patient Centered, Timely, Efficient, and Equitable.  Provide leadership and work with all staff to achieve the goals of the “Triple Aim” of healthcare reform—to improve the experience of care, improve health outcomes, and decrease healthcare costs.
  12. Qualifications

Requirements, Special Skills or Knowledge: 

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Three years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  3. Two years of experience utilizing EHR.
  4. Experience working with minimal supervision and maximum accountability.
  5. Experience documenting workflow design and identifying areas for improvement.
  6. Experience customizing and configuring EHR to support clinic workflow and clinical best practices.
  7. Experience evaluating and analyzing EHR features and functionality for problem resolution.
  8. Expert clinical competence and positive working attitude.
  9. Experience working as a team with other professionals.
  10. Knowledge of industry best practices related to patient flow and staffing roles.
  11. Excellent written, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
  12. Experience communicating orally and in writing with all levels of clinical, administrative, and support staff.
  13. Expert computer skills, particularly in all Microsoft Office software.
  14. Ability to maintain a flexible schedule that will include some evening and weekend hours.

 

ADA Requirements:

  1. Able to lift 30-50 pounds.
  2. Able to drive between and to all satellite centers upon notice or need.
